Wendy Calcanas Pliego

CASE MANAGER

Wendy Calcanas Pliego earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Hamline University, graduating in May 2024, and joined Zimmer Law Group in November 2025. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is able to build strong connections with the clients she works with and provide clear, compassionate support throughout their cases.

She has always been passionate about helping people and advocating for change, even before realizing that immigration law would be her professional path. As the child of immigrants, she grew up witnessing the challenges, sacrifices, and resilience required to build a life in a new country. These experiences shaped her deep understanding of the importance of accessible and compassionate legal support for immigrant families.

Her interest in immigration law fully developed during her internship at the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, where she gained hands on experience working directly with immigrant communities and developed practical skills to support clients through complex legal processes. What she enjoys most about immigration law is the opportunity to support individuals and families during important and often life-changing moments in their lives. She cares deeply about her clients and strives to ensure they feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout the process.

She especially enjoys working on Naturalization, One Step, and Asylum cases, where she can help clients move toward long term stability and peace of mind. Outside of work, she enjoys walking around the lake, attending concerts, and starting her Saturday mornings with AMP Cycle classes.
