David T. Kubat

ATTORNEY

David Kubat is a partner who has worked at ZLG since January of 2012. He practices both immigration and criminal law. Though he only speaks English fluently, he appreciates any opportunity to improve his Spanish skills.

David earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. He later studied law at Hamline Law School. David went on to work at the Pro-Bono Appellate Public Defender Clinic of Minnesota. He has also served in the US Military, having been deployed to both Iraq and Kuwait. Because of this background, his favorite types of cases are Military Immigration Issues, Crimmigration Matters and Removal Defense.

David enjoys helping clients navigate the world of immigration law during some of the most significant decisions of their lives. As David says, “this field is unique in the legal profession as it allows you to work with everyday people to significantly improve the course of their life. It is rare as a lawyer to find a situation where you are doing more than winning a conflict, or preventing a bad outcome, but instead your clients are by in large significantly better off than when you started working with them.”

When he is not representing clients in court, you can find him doing karaoke!
